According to Cookie, “Balduck Park’s opening ceremony. There was a great crowd there. The Cass Tech marching band was ‘off the hook’ . Willie Horton and some of the members from Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions made an appearance. Even Dave Bing made his presence there. Funding was provided as part of the ongoing relationship between UAW-FORD and Eagle Sports. The real honors goes to the kids that will be playing there. ‘Cheers’ to a great park.” (Photos by Jim Grenwick)

Though the weather outside was frightful, the Cornerstone Board-up crew secured 10 empty and burned out houses at the end of 2013. These houses were identified by concerned Cornerstone neighbors. The team focused on hazardous structures near our schools.
